For those who don't know, I hate the series "Saint Seiya Omega". But this hatred is not only due to a knee-jerk reaction of a reactionary old fan who can not stand anyone to touch a cartoon he loved as a child (even if there are a bit of that). I appreciate the prequels "The Lost Canvas" and "Episode G" (for "Next Dimension" I don' really like the scenario but color images mitigated somewhere the poverty of the story), and I even read fanfics and writing myself.
So why I can not stand Omega ?
First for all unexplained changes of the Saint Seiya universe's rules (cosmos related at elements, armor that became leotard and Cloth Box become Cloth Stone proper at Magical Girls), at least until the episode 12 which for me is too late when there are a school for Saints and veterans like Ishii and Geki who can give this explanation from the episode 3.
These rules changes could also pass very well without explanation if the action was to be held for a new incarnation of Athena (another era, another rules), or in an alternate universe where Seiya & co had lived all their adventures in spandex and their cosmos related to elements like Pokemons.
But no, Omega happens just twenty years after the original series and this short period of time would have forced the writers to give reasons for the changes of the Saint Seiya universe as soon as possible, and do not it in episodes of the Palestra is a fucking fatal error.
But there is a change for which there is no explanation and that is a big "what the fuck?", I mean the new shape of the armor of the Eagle.
There or armor Ophiuchus gaining protection while remaining in the same tones from this

Secondly and finally to its own screenwriters problems ( beware there will be spoilers)
1: Wolf Haruto. This Saint and ninja was created for only one purpose: to round up the Naruto's audience. It's so obvious that I'm still wondering how the creators of the series have ventured out such an enormity. They could at least make the effort to give him a different name.
2: The betrayal of the Silver Saint. Beyond the repetition of the first series (and still in the original cartoons, the Silvers are not really a traitor because they believe fight in the name of Athena) the writers have forgotten that they are supposed to fight on behalf of their goddess, they are holy warriors from diverse countries who are fighting for an ideal and are ready to die for it. This betrayal could be more comprehensible if it not take place only twenty years (still the problem of temporality) after the Civil War to the Sanctuary and they should instead try to wash the honor of their caste rather than stain it even more.
3: Linked to the previous problem, the virtual disappearance of henchmen of Mars after the annexation / destruction of the Sanctuary. We have the impression that he never had his own army.
4: The ruins that absorb the Earth's cosmos. Still the same problem of temporality, how does this date 20 years seems assets been there since immemorial time.
5: Orion Eden. Except the fact to make him the future Ikki who will spend the bad to good sides who have the element of lightning, there is no reason to have made him a Saint of Athena because he does nothing to justify he is a spy in the Palestra, especially when Capricorn Ionia was here for it. If only he had joined the 5 heroes for later betrayed and return Aria to Mars in time it would have made sense, but in fact he should instead be the same kind of protection as Sonia.
6: The reason of Hyoga and Shun's retirement. When Seiya is (presumed) dead and Shiryu severely disabled, Hyoga and Shun stopped fighting only because their cosmos is pumped by Mars. Did the writers only saw the first series or read the manga? All ancient heroes fight to the death, it is not a loss of power who is supposed to stop them. At least they could became teachers in palaestra. And don't tell me that it was a good excuse to quit fighting for Shun. In times of peace may be, but not in the middle of a conflict. In the beginning of the Hades' arc, Athena decided to ban the heroes to fight for her for they can enjoy a well rest they deserved, but he still goes to the Sanctuary when he feels that a hazard plane. In summary, for the ancient heroes do not fight the only excuse must be death or large physical disability.
Here I think I h given enough objective arguments for why Omega is bad sequel to Saint Seiya. In fact I think that the serie was to be completely original, but it was decided to graft over it the mythical aura of Saint Seiya to the story of this new cartoon. And finally we have a Saint Seiya who would have raped by Sailor Moon and Naruto.
